The landscape design was done by another firm and some years later Groundforce was contracted for the installation.

The original back yard was tiered in a manner that made it essentially nonfunctional, and it had essentially fallen out of use. In order to reclaim this backyard, timber was used to retain the perimeter of the work area, and free-draining, structural fill was moved in to bring the backyard up to one elevation.

The Groundforce team designed and constructed a custom cedar gazebo complete with provisions for an outdoor TV and natural gas heater.

A segmented block retaining wall with stone stairs leads to a lower patio and allows access to the back yard from the basement.

Groundforce did the lighting design, and landscape lighting was extensively but unobtrusively incorporated throughout the yard and in the gazebo and pergola, allowing entertaining hours to extend well into the night.
